Union progresses agreement talks at Burdekin Shire Council

The Services The Services Union held further Certified Agreement (CA) negotiations with Burdekin Shire Council on Wednesday 27 March.

We discussed several claims including Flexible Work Arrangements, superannuation payments while on parental leave, workforce planning, mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, and additional pay increments for long-serving staff members. The Council was unwilling to firmly commit to tabling a pay offer at the next meeting but stated it would endeavour to do so.

We’re back at the table on Wednesday 24 April. If you have any questions in the meantime, contact either your workplace delegate Mr Jodie Towning, or myself.

Having strong Union is the best way to secure the pay offer you deserve. If you work with someone who is not yet a member, encourage them to join today .
