Tell us about staffing and vacancies at Sunshine Coast Council
As your ally in the workplace at Sunshine Coast Council, The Services Union is keen to get it right at the bargaining table for your new Certified Agreement (CA). At our most recent CA discussions with the Council, we started discussing your claims for workload management via prompt filling of vacancies, and measures to mitigate against downgrading of roles. The Council’s initial response indicated that management doesn’t seem to think there is a problem in relation to these items.
In order to progress these claims when we return to the table next Wednesday, we encourage all members to complete our latest survey by 4pm on Tuesday 21 March. If you have not received your link to the survey, please advise us as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we encourage you to attend one of the Council’s Roadshow sessions if you haven’t already done so. These sessions are your opportunity to ask questions of the Council regarding its bargaining position on pay and other matters. Talk to your Workplace Delegates if you have any questions. If you’re a member, remind your colleagues of the work we’re doing at the table to ensure you get the deal you deserve.
