You deserve a decent wage increase at MBRC

The Services Union knows how important it is to maintain the real value of your pay at Moreton Bay Regional Council, and we’re by your side throughout the negotiations for your new Certified Agreement (CA).

We have written to your CEO outlining why you deserve a wage increase that reflects the current economic circumstances and your skills, qualifications, and effort!

The Council refuses to come to grips with the fact that CPI sits at 6.1% nationally (7.3% for Brisbane) and underlying inflation is now at 4.9% - with all indicators pointing to higher inflation later this year.

The Council clearly doesn’t care whether or not your wages keep up with the cost of living!

Members of our Union have been taking industrial action at Gympie Regional Council and Redland City Council in recent weeks to reject similar offers and as you know, members at Ipswich City Council were able to persuade that Council to improve its wage offer.

The Council’s current pay offer is as follows:

July 2022 – 3.5% (3.5% has been administratively paid by Council)

             July 2023 – 3.5%

             July 2024 – 3.5%

You deserve better than this! Standby for further updates from our Union.

The Services Union is by your side. There is strength in numbers – remind your non-member colleagues to join the Union and stand up for a real wage increase.
