What is CPI worth to you at Rockhampton Regional Council?

As your ally in the workplace at Rockhampton Regional Council, The Services Union is by your side to deliver important conditions and protections at work. Our Union’s efforts at the bargaining table in 2022 mean that Council employees are now in line for a pay increase of 7.4% to match inflation.

While we were able to lock in a CPI adjustment provision to ensure your pay increases in line with the Brisbane CPI from the March Quarter, many local government staff across Queensland are still having to fight to achieve increases of half that rate.

So what is CPI worth to you? Thousands of dollars this year, and every year into the future. Compare that with the 3% wage increase Council was offering if Union members didn’t stand together for a better outcome.

This outcome is due to the efforts of you and your fellow Union members. If you work with someone you know will appreciate the extra dollars and isn’t yet a member, remind them that joining is easy online.

The other vital factor in delivering this sort of outcome is a strong and informed Workplace Delegate structure to ensure your voice is heard. If you are interested in becoming a Workplace Delegate to help deliver similar pay outcomes into the future, talk to one of your Delegates or your Organiser, Chris McJannett.
