Union presses case for nine-day fortnight at Unitywater

The Services Union will return to the bargaining table tomorrow for further negotiations with Unitywater around your new Enterprise Agreement (EA). At the last meeting we had productive discussions regarding TOIL and Travel provisions. However we are still at odds with Unitywater regarding its claim to restrict the Dispute Resolution procedure to matters regarding the EA or the NES – our clear view is that you should be able to raise a dispute about any workplace matter.

While we vigorously pressed your claim for a default nine-day fortnight, Unitwater maintained its opposition to this provision. It was only when we suggested there could be efficiencies to be gained through such an arrangement that Unitywater showed any interest in further discussions.

On that basis, we’re keen to hear what ideas you might have about how the slightly longer days associated with a nine-day fortnight might be beneficial to Unitywater as well as its staff.
