City of Gold Coast Bargaining Update

The Services Union has been meeting weekly (and in some cases more frequently) with City of Gold Coast for discussions regarding your new Certified Agreement (CA). The most recent discussions have concerned the Local Area Agreements (LAAs), which are clearly a bargaining priority for the City.

This Thursday we return to the table for more talks regarding the CA itself. The City has undertaken to provide a position on the following key claim items:
  • No reduction of conditions, with redrafting only as required
  • Nominal expiry date of 16 October 2026
  • 35-hour week for full-time employees (with appropriate consideration for 10-day fortnight staff)
  • Improved headline pay increase
  • On-call allowance of $65 per day, indexed to annual wage increases
  • Improved remuneration and arrangements for unpleasant working conditions
  • Wellbeing at Work measures
  • Measures to assist staff transition to fortnightly pay
