The Services Union Delivers Again at Isaac

Congratulations to our Isaac members and your Workplace Delegates on the fantastic win achieving better pay for travel outside of work hours. This condition will now be payable to all staff thanks to the months of persistence and hard work of The Services Union’s members and delegates in Community Hubs.

Thanks to your efforts the following conditions for travel outside of ordinary hours will apply:

  • Travel during ordinary work hours should be considered in the first instance.
  • If an employee who is in a salary range eligible for overtime is required to travel outside of their ordinary working hours, they will receive a penalty rate of time and one-half for that travel time.
  • Passengers who are eligible for overtime will also receive a penalty rate of time and one-half.
  • Approval will be required by the employee’s Manager prior to undertaking any travel outside ordinary working hours.

This is a prime example of what workers can achieve through strong Union membership and sticking together.

If you have any colleagues who are not members tell them it’s time to join our union. Between 6% pay increases, Superannuation increases and now overtime rates for travel outside of hours – our Union has been by your side every step of the way and delivered for members at Isaac Regional Council in spades. Joining is easy and can be done online at The Services Union.

Again, congratulations to everyone involved. Well done.
