Southern DownsJoint Consultative Committee Update

While the negotiations for your Certified Agreement (CA) are done and dusted, the job is never done. Today, The Services Union was by your side at the quarterly Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meetings, advocating for improvements to your workplace. To ensure the protection of our members, we requested that Council provide Workplace Health and Safety data, an updated employment breakdown (number of permanent/temporary/casual/agency staff) and regular updates on the vacancy rate. In previous JCCs we have also required Council to bring forward draft policies to ensure better scrutiny.

The Services Union understand the importance of the JCC being used as a productive forum to advocate for your interests and to keep the Council accountable. If there are any workplace matters that you would like raised at the next JCC meeting on 30 November, speak to your workplace Delegates Helen Gross and Amanda Smith.

Interested in becoming a Delegate or a Health and Safety Representative? If so, we encourage you to speak with Helen and Amanda. Alternatively, if you work with someone who isn’t a member of our Union, send them this email so they can join here.
