Moreton Bay Regional Council negotiations to re-convene this Friday

Following The Services Union’s application for assistance from the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), pay discussions recommenced today chaired by Industrial Commissioner Hartigan.

Our Union made it clear to the Council that it needs to improve on its 3.5% offer each year. The Council would not commit to anything more today, but has committed to taking a couple of days to consider what it can offer. We know you are feeling the pinch right now and you have a compelling case for a better wage increase.

Expect a further update this Friday 18 November after QIRC-assisted negotiations re-convene.

In the meantime, remind your colleagues of what we’re doing to get the best deal possible. If you work with someone who is not yet a member, joining is quick and easy here.
