Moreton Bay Regional Council considers Union pay proposal

The Services Union headed back to the bargaining table with Moreton Bay Regional Council yesterday for your new Certified Agreement (CA). While it seems like it’s taking for ever, as your ally in the workplace our Union is keen to get it right so you don’t lose out over the coming years.

Pay was the core item of business. We reiterated our position that 3.5% each year wasn’t good enough given the state of the economy, and that the world has moved on! We also talked to the current cost of living crisis and economic uncertainty in the coming years.

We tabled the following counter-proposal:
  • 4% July 2022
  • 4% July 2023
  • 4% July 2024
The Council has committed to considering this proposal and responding early next week.

Our Union remains keen to wrap this bargain up. However, we won’t let members get stuck with a deal that could end up significantly diluting the real value of your pay over the next three years. Watch this space for an update next week.
