Moreton Bay Regional Council - Notice of Protected Action Ballot

As the cost of living continues to skyrocket, The Services Union will be by your side at Moreton Bay Regional Council to help you achieve the right salary outcome, regardless of how long it takes.

The Council continues to refuse any improvement on its current offer of 3.5% per year. This is despite the national CPI sitting at 6.1% (7.3% for Brisbane) and the underlying rate of inflation climbing to an unprecedented 4.9%!

All members of our Union can take credit for your resolve which has helped influence the Council to administratively deliver a 3.5% increase from 1 July 2022. However, without a new Certified Agreement in place, the real value of your wages is still under threat.

Members are telling us of their frustration with the Council’s inadequate approach to pay. Accordingly, you are hereby notified that The Services Union will conduct a ballot of all members at Moreton Bay Regional Council to determine support for Protected Industrial Action in pursuit of a better salary outcome.

The electronic ballot will open at 9:00am on Monday 29 August 2022 and will remain open until 5:00pm on Wednesday 31 August 2022.

We will send you a link to access the electronic ballot prior to the opening time noted above.

Only members of The Services Union will be able to vote on and participate in protected industrial action. Anyone who is not yet a member but wants to support a better deal can join easily here.
