EQL Bargaining Update 19.10.2023

Preliminary discussions for a new Energy Queensland Enterprise Agreement continued this week. A collective sigh of relief could be heard when EQL was informed during our meeting that the government has finally given them approval to commence bargaining. This means formal negotiations can now commence and we can negotiate an equitable outcome for all members.

The greatest outcome we can achieve through these negotiations is securing wages and conditions that recognise the value each employee brings to the organisation regardless of their classification or job title.  We will continue to advocate for improvements in wages, recognition of service, access to all types of leave, workplace flexibility, improvements to superannuation and many others.

It’s important that members keep up to date with negotiations and follow the Workplace page to keep informed. We will be providing a comprehensive summary of the status of our claims next week and will be holding further information sessions with members in November.  Further details regarding these sessions will be available soon.
