Commission sets date for Moreton Bay Regional Council pay talks

As your ally in the workplace at Moreton Bay Regional Council, The Services Union is acutely aware that wage negotiations occur in real time and must address current economic factors. We’ll tell the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) on 14 November that you deserve a pay increase which meaningfully addresses the cost of living and recognises the productivity you have delivered for your Council and community. That’s what we have been telling the Council throughout these negotiations.

The underlying rate of inflation is currently 6.1%. The current wage offer from the Council of 3.5% doesn’t come anywhere near close enough!

The QIRC has listed the matter for 14 November 2022. In the meantime, remind your colleagues of what we’re doing to get the best deal possible. If you work with someone who is not yet a member, joining is quick and easy here.
