Churches of Christ to Close Services
Your Delegate and fellow members have contacted us about the announcement from Churches of Christ Leadership Team to close Youth Residential and Family Support Services and hand back contracts to the State Government. We understand at this stage that Fostering and Kinship Care Services are not impacted.
The full details of this decision and why such action has been taken is unknown. We have contacted Churches of Christ to request more information on behalf of members so we can best support you over the coming weeks and months. Churches of Christ have assured us that EAP is available to staff and access during this time has been extended.
To assist us in gathering all relevant information if you are employed within the Youth Residential and Family Support Services we suggest that you send through the text below in an email to your manager with subject line – Appointed Representative Re Churches of Christ Service Closure Announcement. Be sure to copy in [email protected]. This will aid our Industrial team in providing valuable collective and individual advocacy to support you and your fellow members who are impacted.

Please be advised that The Services Union is my appointed representative.
I request that Churches of Christ, as my employer, contact The Services Union in regards to the announcement of closure of services that I work within and provide to them all relevant information about said closures so they can appropriately represent and assist me.
I make this notification in accordance with clause 9.2 (b) and (c) of the Churches of Christ Care Community and Residential Services Enterprise Agreement 2017.
