Before the ink has settled, Virgin Australia breaches the proposed Enterprise Agreement

Virgin Australia's recent decision to pay employee bonuses during a regular pay week has left us deeply disappointed. Upon learning of this, we immediately reached out to Virgin to express our strong opposition to this move by the management. We urged them to reconsider this decision.

The Airline had previously provided written assurance that the bonus would be paid during an "off" week, which brought our members a sense of security and financial planning. Regrettably, the Airline unilaterally altered this commitment, citing "operational reasons," without the TSU's agreement.

We find it wholly unacceptable that Virgin Australia would treat the terms of the proposed Enterprise Agreement and their commitment to our members with such disregard.

Once the Fair Work Commission approves the Proposed Agreement, we will rigorously enforce each and every term.

Our work doesn't conclude with the conclusion of EA negotiations. It is now imperative for all union members to collaborate and ensure that Virgin upholds our hard-earned conditions. We can achieve this by acting collectively and holding managers accountable.
