Celebrating our Union's achievements - 22 WINS in 2022
ASU members nationally have achieved incredible things in 2022. We wanted to share some of the amazing work our union has accomplished together...
- Making Super fairer for women: In February, Parliament abolished the $450 earning threshold for Superannuation following sustained pressure by ASU members to get Super working!
- Making history & saving lives. ASU members led the campaign for ten days paid family and domestic violence leave for over a decade. Together, we made history when it was legislated into the National Employment Standards in October. ASU members knew it would save lives and now it can.
- Higher wages. ASU members were a key part in the campaign for real wage rises in the National Wage Case, resulting in a 4.6% increase to Award Wages and a 5.2% increase to the National Minimum Wage.
- The Secure Jobs, Better Pay Bill was passed this month and ASU members played a key role in getting it across the line. The Bill is a first step to balance the scales for workers and making our workplace laws fairer.

We still have work to do. In 2023, we’ll be back and active in fighting for fair and secure jobs across our industries.
