Western Downs Regional Council Bargaining Update #5
The Services Union and the AWU continued Certified Agreement (CA) negotiations with Western Downs Regional Council on Wednesday 27 March.
We reminded Council that the current offer of 1.8% (CPI) and the removal of all RDOs was completely unacceptable, and that members felt disrespected by this low wage offer and Council’s desire to trash your work-life balance.
Council provided two revised offers:
- 1.8% Annual Wage and Allowance Increases from the 1st full pay period to commence on or after the date of certification in the QIRC;
- Retain RDO Provisions.
- 2.5% Annual Wage and Allowance Increases from the 1st full pay period to commence on or after the date of certification in the QIRC;
- Removal of RDOs.
Our outdoor union colleagues advise that Council’s original offer to them remains unchanged at 1.8% annual wage increase and a 19-day month for all outdoor employees.
All unions will hold member meetings by early May to discuss our options. It is imperative that you attend and provide your feedback. Stay tuned for details.
