Western Downs Members Vote to Lock In Conditions
Members of The Services Union at Western Downs Regional Council have resoundingly voted “YES” in last week’s ballot for the new Certified Agreement (CA).
94.3% of participants voted in favour of the proposal. Our Union will now work closely with Council towards prompt lodgement of the agreement with the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
Congratulations to all members of our Union for achieving a great new CA.
Remember to thank your Workplace Delegates Kylee Goss and Penny Harvey for working extremely hard to protect your conditions and delivering increases of 6.9% over the life of this agreement plus the one-off bonus payment of $1,250 paid to all full-time employees and pro-rata for part-time and casual employees. Council has advised that the one-off bonus payment will be processed and in everyone’s bank accounts by COB Wednesday 12 February 2020.
Key features of the new CA are:
- Maintenance of key conditions of employment including no changes to your Nine-Day fortnight RDO provisions;
- Improved Consultation provisions;
- Inclusion of Domestic and Family Violence Leave.
Once again, union membership and strong Workplace Delegate leadership have delivered a great bargaining outcome.
