Well Underway at Whitsunday!
The Services Union commenced negotiations with Whitsunday Regional Council last Thursday 7 October for your new Certified Agreement (CA).
We discussed all parties’ logs of claims including a proposal to double Parental Leave entitlements and an increase to the Leading Hand Allowance from $38 per week to $50 per week in exchange for agreement to remove the Leading Hand Allowance Complex Projects or Sites clause which is not currently being used.
The Council tabled an initial pay offer of 2% (Year One), 2.25% (Year Two) and 2.5% (Year Three).
The next negotiation meeting is scheduled for Thursday 4 November. In the meantime, remind your colleagues that even though we’re only one meeting into the process, we’re off to a flying start and that’s due to the efforts of all members.
