The End of NAS at Mackay Regional Council!
The Services Union is excited to announce that Mackay Regional Council is ending the current partnership agreement with PEAK to bring the Shared Services Centre back in-house! We consider this to be an extremely positive and successful result for all our members in Shared Services who have struggled through the difficulties of that arrangement.
We want to thank each of our members who voiced their concerns, completed our survey, encouraged colleagues to join the fight and persisted throughout this trying period. Your efforts and persistence helped to deliver this great result for all Shared Services Staff.
The transition will occur on 30th (CEO advised today) April 2019. The Shared Services Centre will continue to operate as is, however, the IS function will be established as a stand-alone program.
The Shared Services Program will be a stand-alone MRC program of approximately 70 employees. This will mean Council will once again have direct operational control, direct reporting accountability and aligned processes across the whole organisation.
QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS?
Council confirmed all Shared Services Staff have now been advised of the contract termination and are being given an opportunity to meet with the CEO today to ask questions directly.
After that meeting, Council will set up an email address which staff can use to ask any additional questions during the transition period.
Please be aware that the response information will be shared with all Shared Services Staff, unless the question is specific to the individual only.
If you wish for us to raise any matters on your behalf, please do not hesitate to contact one of your Workplace Delegates or your Union Organiser (firstname.lastname@example.org).
