Toowoomba Regional Council – Seeking Member Feedback for the JCC Meeting
It’s been a very stressful few months for Toowoomba Regional Council members since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Many staff have been working at locations different from their usual.
The Services Union negotiated a provision in your current Certified Agreement (CA) for a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) to meet every three months. The JCC is the primary forum for consultation between Council and staff via your Union.
JCC parties are committed to achieving improved and effective consultation in the workplace and agree that cooperative consultation will provide members with an opportunity to raise and discuss relevant matters.
The next JCC meeting is being held on Thursday 13 August 2020 and we are seeking input from our members.
We are asking members to provide updates on how the Return to Normal Work Locations (RTNWL) plan is going in your workplace and if there have been any concerns that Council has not addressed. We are also asking members to provide feedback on any other workplace issues they feel should be raised at the JCC.
The Services Union will raise all appropriate matters with Council and have them tabled for discussion on 13 August.
Please provide any feedback on your RTNWL or other matters to be raised at the JCC by 5pm this coming Friday 31 July 2020 by contacting one of your Workplace Delegates or emailing your Regional Organiser, Craig Dunn on email@example.com
The Services Union will always be by your side and advocate for better working conditions.
Aside from the JCC, members can always access advice and support on any industrial or individual issue by calling Services Connect on (07) 3844 5300.
We also strongly urge you to inform your colleagues of the work our Union is doing at Council and encourage non-members to join, by calling Services Connect or online at: https://www.theservicesunion.com.au/member-information/join/
