Maranoa Bargaining Finalised – Now to Vote!
The Services Union advises members at Maranoa Regional Council that we have given in-principle agreement for your new Certified Agreement (CA) to go to a full staff ballot.
Council will facilitate the voting process on Thursday 5 December 2019 for all staff covered by the proposed Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2019 and will provide details of times and locations.
Once again, members of The Services Union have delivered an outcome which maintains and improves upon current conditions and delivers a sign-on bonus and an overall better wage increase than at many comparable Councils.
Highlights of your proposed CA include:
- Maintenance of key conditions of employment;
- Improved Consultation provisions;
- Improved Natural Disaster Leave;
- Inclusion of Domestic and Family Violence Leave.
Salary and Wage Increase of 9.3% over the life of the Agreement:
- One-off sign-on bonus payable from the first pay period after a successful “yes” vote:
- Payable from first pay period after the date of certification, the following increases are:
- Year 1 – 2.1%;
- Year 2 – 2.5%;
- Year 3 – 2.5%.
A “yes” vote will ensure timely delivery of the above improvements.
Full credit goes to all members for delivering this outcome, and particularly to your wonderful Workplace Bargaining Representatives Katrina Dixon, Debbie Gelhaar, Wendy Alderman, Robert Peake and Loren Clanchy for invaluable leadership on the ground and at the bargaining table.
When we strive together, we can achieve great things, just as we have done at over 45 other Councils!
