Local Authorities May 12, 2020

Last Friday, the Queensland Government announced its roadmap to easing COVID-19-related restrictions.

Stage One measures will commence this Saturday, 16 May and will include reopening of libraries for up to ten people at a time.

The Services Union anticipates consultation on the return to work with those few Councils who have stood down staff due to mandated closures.

Our Union is currently engaging with our members in Branch Librarian roles to seek feedback in preparation for those discussions.

We also expect there will be broader discussions with Councils about what resuming pre-pandemic work arrangements might look like and what safety measures should be implemented.

Watch this space for updates as the situation develops.
