Bargaining On Track at Douglas Shire Council
Your Services Union Bargaining Team met with Douglas Shire Council today for the third round of negotiations. All Unions have now tabled and explained their respective logs of claims and so far, we are on track for a positive outcome.
While Council is yet to provide a pay offer, we have had constructive conversations around domestic and family violence leave and improved reclassification and natural disaster provisions. Council has committed to ensuring that all staff are entitled to a nine-day fortnight and is considering our proposal to pay superannuation on unpaid maternity leave for up to 12 months.
We have scheduled further discussions with Council on Wednesday 18 September.
Strong Union membership has got us this far. If you’re not yet a member, join now and help seal the deal: https://www.theservicesunion.com.au/member-information/join/join-now/
