Grace Tame To Address The Union Movement – To Launch 16 Days Of Action Against Gendered Violence

Join this special online event to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

On 25 November, the Australian Trade Union Institute will host a pre-recorded address by Australian of the Year Grace Tame with an introduction by ACTU President Michele O’Neil and followed by a Q&A session.

The event will mark the first day of 16 days of action against gendered violence and is part of our We Won’t Wait campaign to win 10 days paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave and our role in fighting for women’s safety at home, in the workplace and in the community.

Grace Tame was awarded Australian of the Year for 2021 for her advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. She has since used her platform to relentlessly campaign further for measures to prevent sexual assault, abuse and harassment. In a special keynote address to unionists she will tell her story, outline actions that can be taken and answer questions.
