TSU request to City of Gold Coast CEO!
The Services Union has contacted the CEO to request the City of Gold Coast (COGC) proceed with providing employees covered by the Certified Agreement an immediate administrative wage increase of 3.5%.
While the 12-month rollover offer was rejected by Unions due to its numerous conditions and strings attached, it’s important to note that nothing prevents the City from granting wage increases to its workforce at any time. They do not require our permission to do so.
With fuel prices soaring and more interest rate hikes on the horizon, COGC should act now to provide their employees with some much-needed cost-of-living relief. After all, the Council previously expressed they wanted to do a 12-month roll over to put “money in your pockets now”.
We think they should just do it!
The City is already aware of how far behind we are and this should be an obvious decision.
We’ll keep you updated once we receive a response directly from the CEO or City management.
Bargaining will commence around late April. Members will receive their Log of Claims survey on 31 March, and we strongly encourage your participation to provide as much relevant information as possible.
